Hughjacked Moments

Post op cat nibbles at carrier door to get outI was fully prepared to plow through.

Busy week.

Looming deadlines.

Four days and counting behind.

Head down, arse up and everything could get done.

Then Hugh came home from his dental.

Ready to escape a day being knocked out or behind bars.

Wobblier than a weeble and hungrier than a bear.

Only two wants would right his day –

food and snuggles.

And so it was.

Hugh snuggled up in the crook of an arm

Those precious few moments shifted everything.

The juggling sorted itself into arrangement.

Importance made its own way to clarity.

Being here for those we love far outweighs whatever needs to be done.

How long isn’t important.

Who we’re with is.

Take a cue from Hugh today.

Be present.

With yourself.

With someone you love.

They’ll both cut like a hot knife through butter.

Feeling the clarity of that moment will stay with you long after the moment is gone.

Not quite a crazy cat lady (yet?) – Lorraine’s insatiable curiosity of life leads her to explore, question and push beyond the box. A self-professed “left-brained creative big picture idea” type, she has an intuitive knack for seeing possibility everywhere and in everyone, and is a moth-to-flame for being part of making that possibility come true.

This is lovely and one hundred percent truth. We are often most present when all of our ‘must do’s’ take a back seat to those we love, and THEIR needs. Very nicely stated.
